How we proceed
Within hypnotherapy, we work with methods that suit a child's world of experience. Everything is playful, safe, and tailored to age and development. Think of:
Wakefulness hypnosis
Use play and imagination while the child is awake. This allows focus and relaxation to arise naturally.
Breathing and relaxation exercises
Short, simple exercises that help calm the body.
Stories and metaphors
A story in which a character experiences something similar to the child and shows how things can be different.
A safe place
An imaginary place where the child can always return to feel calm and safe.
Power anchor
A simple gesture or word that helps the child quickly regain a sense of stability.
Imagination techniques
Making the difficult smaller, reframing, or transforming it into something that does feel manageable.
Mild regression work
Briefly going back together to an earlier moment when something became difficult, in a safe and guided setting.
Body awareness
Noticing where tension is and how it can be released.
Strong parts work
Working with the brave, quiet, or smart side of the child.
With younger children, we often work with waking hypnosis: play and fantasy as a natural entry point. From around the age of ten, it is usually possible to work more directly with hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy focuses on the subconscious, where the real patterns and triggers lie. Because the conscious mind steps aside for a moment, we can quickly get to the core. Triggering experiences are identified, and helpful suggestions are immediately absorbed and stored—precisely where they make a difference.
